Darla Luke grew up in the concrete jungle of California. Her mother was an avid reader, instilling a love of the written word that lasted a lifetime. As a pre-teen, Darla spent many hours reading everything she could get her hands on…The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings trilogy (waayy before they became best-selling movies), and she dreamed of becoming a sleuth like Nancy Drew, or a side-kick to one of the Hardy Boys.
In her teen years, she discovered romance novels. Georgette Heyer. Barbara Cartland. And of course, the Harlequin Readers Club.
Now, she’s a wife & mother living on a century farm in the heart of the Willamette Valley, Oregon. When she’s not out tending to her chickens (who thinks she’s a mobile food machine), she’s either crocheting or writing.
If someone would have told her she’d be an author when she grew up, she would have laughed herself silly. Now one of her favorite things to do is to write about strong women and the rocky journey to find love with a deserving man.
